About the faculty
The School of Business Administration in Karvina is a faculty of the Silesian University in Opava. The Silesian University is one of the youngest universities in the Czech Republic. It was founded in 1991.
The Silesian University is divided into four educational units: the Faculty of Philosophy and Science, the Mathematical Institute, the Faculty of Public Policies, and the School of Business Administration.
The School of Business
Administration is located in Karviná - a town of 70 000 inhabitants only 20 km from Ostrava (third largest city in the Czech Republic). The modern buildings of the School offer a pleasant atmosphere for its students and faculty members.
There are approximately 4000 registered students (full-time and part-time) and one hundred faculty members.
The School of Business Administration offers 3-year Bachelor programmes, 2-year Master programmes and a 3-year PhD programme.
The study majors include Economics and Business, Marketing and Management, Finance, Banking, National Economy, Public Administration, Accounting and Taxes, Hotel and Tourism Management, European Inegration, Managerial Informatics and others.
Some of the study majors and a comprehensive block of courses are taught also in English.
